A visit to 'Abbey Tots', Mayo Abbey Childcare services reveals a facility second to none in the county. Nestled in the dynamic and vibrant community that is Mayo Abbey, the service has blossomed dramatically over time and is coming on in leaps and bounds every year.
The new facility is a state of the art building catering for all ages and will include an Afterschool service for children up to 12 years old.

Daily Activities
Abbey Tots aims to provide a well balanced curriculum for all age ranges, always keeping in mind the happiness and welfare of individual needs.
All our staff will make every effort to enable each child to play at this/her own level, whilst helping them reach their next stage of development.

Curriculum
At present Abbey Tots is taking part in the Effective, Early Learning Programme. The purpose of this programme is to evaluate and improve the quality within our service.
The Effective Early Learning is based around six areas of learning:
Communication, Language and Literacy
Personal, Social and Emotional
Physical Development: Fine motor and gross motor skills
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Mathematics
Creative
Each group from Toddlers to Afterschool implement topics. The Curriculum plans are displayed for parents to see.
The amount of effort that has been put into developing 'Abbey Tots' is immeasurable and is truly a wonderful example of teamwork with parents, staff, committee and children together, coupled with community involvement drawing on various links and groups within the parish and county.
